About the department

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Coimbatore Medical College was established in 2022 under the Tamil Nadu Accident and Emergency Care Initiative (TAEI) Scheme, which began in 2018. As a growing specialty in India, our department is among the few in the country with a fully functional and comprehensive Emergency Department. The TAEI initiative at CMCH enhances pre-hospital, in-hospital, and rehabilitative trauma care.
