About the department
Coimbatore Medical College, a premier institution in Tamil Nadu, is home to a dynamic Department of Anatomy celebrated for its state-of-the-art facilities and dedication to medical education. The department features a spacious dissection hall, an advanced histology laboratory, and a distinctive museum displaying rare dry and wet specimens. Committed to both academic excellence and community outreach, it organizes an annual CME for Anatomy Day with engaging Gross Anatomy posters and Histology presentations, alongside rallies to promote voluntary body donation. Led by a proficient team, including one professor (HOD in-charge), two associate professors, and five assistant professors, the department drives excellence in teaching, research, and public service, cementing its pivotal role in medical education.

Dr.VIDULATHA.K MBBS MD
Dr. K. Vidulatha, MBBS, MD, serves as the Head of the Department (HOD In-Charge) of Anatomy at Coimbatore Medical College. A dedicated academician and experienced anatomist, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the department’s academic and clinical excellence. Dr. Vidulatha is an active member of the Institutional Curriculum Committee and has contributed as a resource faculty in reputed academic platforms such as Sierra Medicatum. Under her leadership, the department has expanded its outreach in body donation awareness, strengthened its academic events, and fostered a research-driven environment. Her commitment to both teaching and institutional development makes her a respected figure in the medical education community.
